The dipper-T water level meter is an extremely versatile ground water monitoring device which can easily be converted to measure what the user wants to know. The four functions of the dipper-T include: static mode, drawDown mode, well casing, and well depth.

dipper-t in the field

In static mode, the water level indicator is used to measure the depth of water in wells, boreholes and standpipes.

When in drawDown mode, the dipper-T is able to measure falling water levels during purging or pumping. It can also be used in the well-development process and for low flow sampling.

What Makes our Water Level Meter so Diverse?

The Heron dipper-T comes standard with the drawDown probe, which can be easily detached and replaced with the optional Well Casing Indicator Probe or the Well Depth Indicator Probe.

With the Well Casing Indicator Probe, users will be able to measure the depth of steel casing in wells and boreholes.

When lowered into a well or borehole, the Well Casing Indicator Probe has a magnet which makes the unit sound when the probe enters the magnetic field. Once the probe passes out the bottom of the steel casing the unit will stop sounding. The user can then take an accurate measurement directly from the tape.

The Well Depth Indicator Probe allows users to measure the entire depth of the well or borehole.

It works by the user lowering the probe down into the well, and once the Well Depth Probe reaches the bottom, the pressure sensitive plunger goes into the probe body, closing a switch, and ultimately causing the unit to sound. The user can then take an accurate measurement directly from the tape.

The four function capability of the dipper-T water level meter makes this unit an asset to groundwater professionals and rural property owners during the construction of new wells, maintaining wells or decommissioning abandoned wells.
